Sergey Balakhin was born in the Moscow region in a musical family: his father and mother's relatives owned musical instruments and sang. Later he graduated from a music school in Bayan class, but before that he heard the word "synthesiser" from a friend, and that became the starting point. At first he mixed vinyl and tape recorder reels, then he studied analogue methods of sound processing, took apart electronic games, and created his own DIY instruments from them. Sergey learnt about the diploid set of chromosomes during a genetics lesson at school - that's how his first creative pseudonym - DIPLOID - appeared. Later, when he got involved in stock music, another pseudonym appeared - oRangeOfSound, it was during this period Sergey studied many popular genres, and most importantly - commercial genres of music, demanded in advertising, cinema, TV series...although his favourite for him remains - electronic music. He worked as a sound engineer and video editing director at the same time. Gradually created his own recording studio and collected analogue synthesizers (this is his special love). For about 10 years Sergey was a creative producer of an alternative team and at the same time was recording and producing third-party projects in his personal studio, at the same time he tried himself for the first time as a sundesigner for a cartoon, and successfully! In 2015 he was invited to work on a new album in the electronic team "VEGA" - the result of his work was his performance - "Supernova Star Romance. Space Concert" on Red Square in June 2021, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Gagarin's flight, where "VEGA" completed this festival. There is a lot more to come, because sound is an infinite ocean and we are able to comprehend it as much as we are open to new things.
