Chromatic Fields

Chromatic Fields is an instrumental electronic project from St Petersburg, founded in 2019 by composer Ilya Sakharov. He is a resident of Label Cantroll, a member of the flagship international compilations Take a Trip and Downtown. The name of the project is a reference to colour (chromatic) fields from colour theory, which include different shades in a certain sequence. Chromatic Fields compositions combine various musical elements and directions into a single musical harmony: jazz noir notes are combined with classic hip-hop beats and synthesiser parts. Ilya writes lyrical compositions with keyboard and brass parts combined with synthesised and sampled elements under hip-hop drums. Together they create a single harmonious picture and offer the listener a journey through the musical canvas.
