Andrew Jilin is a Russian musician, he has played music all his life. He was particularly inspired when he heard the deeply moving sound of a flute. The instrument he had heard was a Shakuhachi, the Japanese bamboo flute. In Japan, it was performed by the Komuso Zen monks for years. Mainly used for meditation and enlightenment purposes, not for entertainment. Andrew Jilin is the founder and leader of the Russian Shakuhachi Society. Also Andrew writes music for movies and cartoons.
